In 2010 we will continue to see the integration of GPS Tracking into our society in many applications. These uses have several central purposes: safety, verification, recovery. These universal uses are making our communities better places to live, work and raise a family. Here are the main categories and some of the applications in which these units are being placed into service:
Families
Family members who cannot care for themselves need the extra watch and care of those who love them. In a busy society, having an option that affords one the ability to keep track of a person from afar is very valuable. The elderly are in this category especially if they are experiencing issues related to dementia or other like illnesses. Children who are vulnerable also can benefit. And, then there are teen drivers who need extra eyes on their actions to make sure they are safe.
Finally, theft of personal property is a popular application as well. Families save money by being able to recover quickly from the theft of a vehicle or other expensive piece of property.
Businesses
Keeping a close watch on business activities has never been more important to remaining profitable than it is right now. That is why the use of these units makes sense. There is only a small, upfront outlay of money, and then the protection begins. Watching for usage patterns that reveal waste helps businesses know where to make changes.
The best application for GPS Tracking devices appears to be fleet tracking. Any business that has significant numbers of company vehicles on the move daily knows what a management nightmare it can be to keep them under control. That is no longer the case with the addition of a GPS Tracking system.
Government
Waste, bureaucracy and apathy are the three most often heard complaints against government entities. If there were ever an organization that begs for more oversight and accountability, this is it. And, GPS Tracking devices are made for this purpose. The tracking of government assets such as vehicles and other costly equipment that spends all of its time out-of-doors is mandatory.
GPS Tracking devices cannot make elected officials and municipal employees better at their jobs, but at least it can help make them more accountable and that is a step in the right direction.
Now there is nothing stopping the use of GPS Tracking devices and the applications in which they excel. How long before you implement them?
